Experience - PhD
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Greenwich, working under the guidance of Rob Calvert Jump. My wife and I moved to London from San Diego for this opportunity, and we are excited to explore everything this city has to offer!
Research Focus
Economic data is often revised after its initial release. Although publishers delay data to enhance accuracy, revisions are still necessary. This is especially true for survey-based data, where late responses and changes in survey methods can lead to significant updates. For example, the American Community Survey (ACS) in the United States balances timely reporting with accuracy by publishing both one-year and five-year releases.
Using early-release data in research carries the risk of reaching conclusions that may change after revisions. Although historical data minimizes this risk, it may not always reflect current realities, especially after major global events.
I am passionate about understanding these challenges and their implications for economic research.
